BAR / FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM

Here at the award-winning River Dart Country Park, we are looking for charismatic and enthusiastic bar / front of house members to join our team. You must be over 18 to apply for this role. You do not necessarily need any experience, but you do need to be able to demonstrate that you are a great team player, as well as being able to work unsupervised during busy times and keen to learn.

We are looking for individuals that have a positive attitude, demonstrate loyalty and are enthusiastic to deliver genuine warmth of hospitality to all our guests. Excellent timekeeping is essential, and employees must be presentable with an elevated level of personal hygiene.

River Dart Country Park is set in 90 acres of parkland within Dartmoor National Park and has been one of Devon’s best-loved family tourist attractions and campsites for over 40 years. In addition to the campsite, the park is also a popular venue for both corporate clients and weddings.

General Responsibilities include 

  • Service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to our customers in both the Old Sawmill and Holne Park House.
  • Making speciality coffee and hot drinks. Full barista training will be given.
  • Waiting/Serving to tables in a professional manor. 
  • Maintaining the highest level of customer service. 
  • To maintain a high level of stock control, including rotation and storage.
  • Deliveries to be put away using the correct manual handling procedures.
  • Keeping the cellar clean and organised. Changing kegs and general cellar duties.
  • To ensure all workstations and areas are kept clean and tidy during and at the end of the shift, whilst maintaining our 5* food hygiene rating across site. 
  • Taking food/drink orders efficiently on the Epos tills whilst using the correct cash handling procedures. 
  • To work on weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
  • Maintain the highest level of health and safety when working.

We are seeking staff to work school holidays and weekends for our ‘Dare Devil’ activities. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to work in the outdoors and gaining experience working with the general public. In particular, it is the perfect opportunity for outdoor students to gain valuable experience in a busy centre. Applicants must be hardworking and enthusiastic about working in the outdoor industry.

You will be working alongside our full-time staff and will be responsible for the setup and safe running of activities. There is a large campsite at the River Dart Country Park, which provides a wide range of customers for our increasingly popular activities. The ‘Dare Devil’ activities that we operate are High Ropes Course, Mega Zip Wire, Canoe and Kayak Lake, Water Zorbing and indoor Climbing Wall.

Wage: Dependent on Age, experience and level of qualifications
Hours: Average of 40 hours per week
Accommodation: Onsite accommodation is available with a deduction
Food: Meals are available when residential school groups are staying at the centre.
Essential Qualifications: Level 1 Paddlesport Coach OR Paddlesport Instructor (Level 1). First Aid. At least one years experience in the outdoor industry.
Desired Qualifications: SPA/RCI Training, First Aid Certificate, Cave leader training, D1 Licence.
Start date: End of March 2020

Person Specification:
You must be a logical thinker with excellent problem solving skills and be capable of working under your own initiative. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role and it is imperative that you can communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. You need to be able to work with speed and efficiency, and demonstrate confidence and flexibility. You must be fully competent with all aspects of the job and treat all equipment with respect, notifying your line manager of any faults. Excellent timekeeping is essential, and employees must be presentable to clients at all times. When working for CRS Adventures we expect you to be an ambassador for the company at all times.

Responsibilities:
• Run and supervise activity sessions for all clients to a high standard.

• Day and Night time Supervision of clients when needed.
