Glorious Devon...
Rugged Moorland...
Whilst we offer plenty to do at the River Dart Country Park, we don't wish you to miss out on the varied and wonderful rest of Devon! Located within the Dartmoor National Park and only one mile from the A38 Devon Expressway, the River Dart Country Park offers the peaceful seclusion of Devon’s countryside with beautiful beaches, resorts and places to visit within easy reach. The River Dart Country Park is a member of the Devon Association of Tourist Attractions (DATA) and as such conform with all guidelines, codes of conduct, standards and requirements of the organisation.
Sandy beaches...
Close to South Devon Heritage Coastline with its 49 miles of unspoiled cliff walks, hidden beaches, coves and lighthouses, this is truly an idyllic location. Why not take the steam train from nearby Buckfastleigh to Totnes and then a boat trip to Dartmouth - a wonderful day out! Blackpool Sands, a privately owned beach near Dartmouth with the famous Venus Cafe makes a wonderful day out when the sun shines.
Family days out...
All can enjoy the tranquil beauty of Buckfast Abbey and historic splendour of Powderham Castle, while the children will love the thrills and spills of Woodlands or Crealy, the exotic animals of Paignton Zoo or enjoy feeding the lambs at the nearby award winning Pennywell Farm. Or for a bit of retail therapy visit Dartington Cider Press near Totnes, or the nearby cities of Exeter and Plymouth. We know the best local attractions in the area, so depending on the weather (and it does occasionally rain) we will be pleased to help. Within just a few miles of us there is the Award winning Pennywell Farm (www.pennywellfarmcentre.co.uk), Buckfast Abbey (the makers of the famous Buckfast Tonic wine!), South Devon Steam Railway and Tuckers Maltings. Or why not ditch the car...
Mountain bike hire is available from the park to help you explore Dartmoor and the surrounding area off the beaten track.
