Kayakers on the River Dartraftingoldmill

Paddlers Welcome...

We are open again to paddlers for the season

From Friday 1st of October 2010 to 13th March 2011 the River Dart Country Park and Holne Park House will open to paddlers at weekends for the season.

Access to the Park for non-residents during the winter season will be £5 per car or £15 per minibus for the day. Parking is free after 3pm for visitors wanting to use the bar and restaurant. Paddlers will be issued with a car pass to enable them to drive in and out of the Park to run shuttles to/from Newbridge - Dartmeet - Buckfastleigh. Kayakers will also have use of the toilet facilities and communual hot showers in our 'boot room' on Saturdays and Sundays. 'The Old Sawmill' will be open at weekends and will offer a Sunday Carvery lunch from 12.30 to 4pm - adults £7.95, children £4.95 (under 8 years). If you purchase a Sunday Carvery ticket at the main gate then your car pass will be included in the price for the driver only.

Accommodation will be available including a special weekend promotion - please see accommodation for details.

Paddlers not wishing to use the facilities at the Park will need to egress at Buckfastleigh as the egress at Holne Bridge will be closed at weekends.

Commercial Operators and Providers

Any provider (by definition a commercial operator, educational establishment or company) wishing to run courses (regardless if for profit or not) on the site (this includes both use of the facilities and using the Park for meeting clients) will be obliged to subscribe to a 'provider package'. The provider package costs £300 including VAT for the season and will include the following:

  • A free pass for unlimited entry onto the site during the winter season
  • Ability to meet groups on site provided that they pay the entrance fee unless they are residents.
  • Use of the river banks through the Park and the lakes for groups on the proviso that they inform CRS Adventures (tel 01364 653444) to avoid any double booking of resources
  • An advertisement on the Dart webcam
  • The ability to reserve The Coach House exclusively for their clients on a B&B basis (nine twin or double rooms) . This will include use of the meeting room, which will be equipped with tools for briefing clients etc.
  • The ability to book an additional meeting room from £10 per hour (the old games room)
  • Preferential booking for accommodation
  • Access to the Park seven days a week (except the Christmas and New Year period)
